We believe the secret to a successful email campaign is through attention to detail. That can be detail in the code, design, content, or the hidden detail.

What is a favicon?

A favicon is the little image that shows in your internet browser, alongside a website’s page title. Here’s the example you’ll be looking at right now:

When you send out email campaigns to your database, most likely you’ll include a ‘View online’ link. This displays your email in an internet browser. If you try clicking this link with any of the emails you have in your inbox, you’ll see a folded page image:

With attention to detail in mind, the addition of a favicon to your email campaigns makes a much more seamless brand experience.

How do you add a favicon to an email campaign?

Adding a favicon into your email needs just a single of code. Add this HTML code to the <head> of your email and voila, favicon inserted:

<link rel=”Shortcut Icon” type=”image/x-icon” href=”http://www.yourdomain.com/your-favicon-image.png” />It’s supported everywhere, takes 2 seconds to add in and shows you have an attention for detail, so why wouldn’t you?

  1. Hey Salman, A couple of things you can try. First option:

    Click the File tab
    Click Options
    Click Mail
Under Compose messages, in the Compose messages in this message format list, click HTML

That will likely only let you edit the HTML in the of your email, you need to edit the HTML in the too. If that’s the case, then you could try creating Stationery in Outlook. Let us know how you get on with the above first.

    Good luck!
